Well I am on my way to trying to assemble a mastering studio here at home. I want to get into adding that extra mojo for peoples and labels tracks. I've been considering a few EQ's and compressors to add to the tool bin. I may also have to get a high end conversion unit just to be sure. Interesting though I don't notice any apparent difference in quality between VJ's Apogee and my Black Lion Audio moded I/O. So I'll be taking donations, no but really this stuff adds up in a hurry, but I really enjoy it.

Looking at these units:

Compressors: Alan Smart C2
EQ: API5500
Conversion: Lavry Blue, Mytek, Lynx Aurora
Monitors: Adam P22a

Have: API 2500 & 7600

Hopefully soon, I'll have a few more things on hand and can get some things going.

Yeah its sick on the wallet too, haha. I am looking forward to it really.

Looking at Klein and Hummel monitors as well, everyone has an opinion about every thing so I am just taking my time, although I've been researching for quite a while. So many choices out there, but I'll probably be selling my monitors and interface in the near future

Ok, so it looks like I am just about finished with my modest start up set up.

The API 5500 will be arriving tomorrow. I'll have an all analog signal path for compression and EQ. Still deciding on limiter functions etc, I've considered the Amek 9098 or even the Sonnox Limiter plug in.

Monitoring I will be using a pair of passive Proac speakers. I'll keep you posted on when I am ready to start the mastering.
